Vortex is planning to acquire a Japanese game development studio in the coming months to strengthen its presence in Japan, the world's third-largest video game market. CEO Gilles Langourieux has indicated that the company is in active discussions with multiple studios, focusing on those with fewer than 100 employees and a solid track record of reliability. He anticipates that a deal could be finalized within six months, leveraging Vortex's expertise in supporting major franchises to enhance collaboration with local publishers.

This strategic move aligns with Vortex's broader expansion efforts in Japan. In September 2023, the company launched Vortex Tokyo, a development studio aimed at strengthening partnerships with Japanese developers, including long-standing collaborations with companies like Square Enix. The Tokyo studio focuses on creative game design and adaptation services, catering to the unique market and cultural needs of Japanese clients.

By combining the establishment of a local studio with potential acquisitions, Vortex aims to deepen its integration into the Japanese gaming industry, fostering closer relationships with local developers and publishers.
